Platinum-Group Mineral Occurrences and Platinum-Group Elemental Geochemistry of the Xiadong Alaskan-Type Complex in the Southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt

open access: yes, 2018
Alaskan-type complexes commonly contain primary platinum-group element (PGE) alloys and lack base-metal sulfides in their dunite and chromite-bearing rocks. They could therefore host PGE deposits with rare sulfide mineralization.

Reinforcing Oxygen Activation of Spinel Oxide via Mn─O Covalency Engineering for VOCs Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A MnCo spinel catalyst with weakened Mn─O covalency was synthesized via a hard‐template method. The reduced Mn─O covalency facilitates localized electron redistribution, promoting the activation of both molecular oxygen and lattice oxygen, and thereby enabling the efficient and complete oxidation of VOCs (ethyl acetate, toluene, and propane).

Erratic behavior of platinum-group elements along an olivine–Cr-spinel cotectic in sulfide-undersaturated basaltic magma: roles of Cr-spinel and alloys

open access: yesScientific Reports
The behavior of platinum-group elements (PGE) in sulfide-undersaturated primitive magmas may be controlled by crystallization of either Cr-spinel, platinum-group minerals (PGM) or olivine.

Time constraints on the formation of lithospheric mantle beneath cratons: a re-Os isotope and platinum group element study of peridotite xenoliths from northern Canada and Lesotho, [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Understanding the generation and evolution of cratonic lithospheric keels requires detailed knowledge of their age, timescale of formation, and the relationship between the crust and mantle part of the lithosphere.

Investigation of Platinum-Group Minerals (PGM) from Othrys Chromitites (Greece) Using Superpanning Concentrates

open access: yes, 2016
Platinum-group minerals were concentrated using superpanning from two composite chromitite samples, which were collected from two old mines within the Othrys ophiolite.

Spatially Separated Redox Centers in One‐Dimensional Sp2‐Carbon Covalent Organic Frameworks Enable Synergistic Photocatalytic Palladium Recovery and Bisphenol A Mineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A one‐dimensional sp2‐carbon covalent organic framework with spatially segregated redox centers integrates a dual photosensitizing system and a cationic interface for synergistic photocatalysis. The material achieves exceptional palladium recovery (1749 mg g−1) and bisphenol A mineralization (0.1710 min−1) without sacrificial agents, demonstrating ...

Platinum-group minerals in the Jinchuan complex, China

open access: yes, 2005
Platinum-group elements (PGE) and minerals (PGM), most commonly froodite (PdBi2), michenerite (PdTeBi), padrnaite (PdBiSe), sperrylite (PtAsz) and irarsite (IrAsS), have been analysed from the Jinchuan Ni-Cu-PGE sulphide deposit in the south western ...
