Cu-Ni Captures Platinum Group Metals from Spent Automotive Exhaust Catalysts

open access: yesSeparations
Platinum group metals (PGMs) are strategic metals, and recycling PGMs in spent automobile exhaust catalysts (SACs) is a key path to alleviate the contradiction between resource supply and demand.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Synthesis and properties of 0.3%Y2O3/0.3%La2O3/0.3%Al2O3/Cu composite

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2014
The 0.3%Y2O3/0.3%La2O3/0.3%Al2O3/Cu composite was prepared by oxygen and nitrogen atomization spray deposition technique, internal oxidation, and then treated by annealing at different temperatures.

High-throughput computational screening of Sb–Te binary alloys for phase-change storage applications

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
As phase change materials (PCMs), Sb–Te based alloys have received a lot of attention in recent years. However, the mechanism for the formation of the alloy and its application as PCMs is not fully understood.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The Electrodeposition of Platinum and Platinum Alloys

open access: yesPlatinum Metals Review, 1988
Work on the electrolytic deposition of platinum and some platinum alloys is reviewed, and the results of our recent work on the deposition and the properties of the layers produced from some promising electrolytes are briefly discussed. In general, studies of plating solutions are restricted by the economic availability of the relevant platinum salts ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
