Emphysema in an 11‐month‐old boy with alpha‐1 antitrypsin deficiency
Pediatric development of emphysema in Alpha‐1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (A1ATD) has been rarely described. In this case report, we document an 11‐month boy with A1ATD phenotype PiZZ with basilar centrilobular emphysema, the earliest such documented case.

Bortezomib‐based chemotherapy achieved an 88.9% remission rate in Chinese pediatric patients with relapsed/refractory B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, enabling 62.5% of responders to bridge to transplantation, while T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia showed no response.

Overview of the antileukemic effects of Piper nigrum extract in AML. P. nigrum reduced leukemic cell proliferation and glycolytic metabolism through modulation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. In vivo, treatment reduced leukemic burden, improved hematological parameters, prolonged survival, and modulated antitumor immune responses.

Safety and efficacy of direct 1.1‐mm cryobiopsy specimen retrieval through a 3.0‐mm therapeutic bronchoscope channel were evaluated. The technique achieved 87.5% overall diagnostic yield, produced specimens three times larger than forceps biopsy, and caused Grade 3 bleeding in only 2.1%.
