Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Gas Biopsy of Pleural Effusion to Diagnose Lung Cancer by Mass Spectrometry. [PDF]
HS‐SPME–GC–MS profiling of pleural effusion revealed distinct volatile metabolic features between lung cancer‐associated malignant pleural effusion and benign pleural effusion. Cross‐matrix integration with paired lung cancer tissues identified hexanal as the only shared differential VOC.

Liquid Metal Nanotransformers for Drug‐Resistant Pan‐Cancer Therapy in Patient‐Derived Organoids
Pan‐cancer therapies are severely limited in drug‐resistance patients due to genetic mutations and other factors, resulting in poor therapeutic outcomes and constrained clinical benefit. Liquid metal nanotransformers, a new class of shape‐transformable nanomaterials capable of dramatic morphological changes, offer a promising physical strategy to ...

Diagnostic value of calprotectin in differentiation between benign and malignant pleural effusion
Background Pleural effusion can arise as a result of more than 50 recognized causes and the differentiation between benign and malignant origin of the fluid is still a diagnostic challenge.

Managing malignant pleural effusion
Malignant pleural effusion can be managed in different ways, including clinical observation, thoracentesis, placement of an indwelling pleural catheter, and chemical pleurodesis. The optimal strategy depends on a variety of clinical factors. This article uses cases to illustrate the rationale for determining the best approach in different situations.

Treatment of malignant pleural effusion
Malignant pleural effusion (MPE) is a very disabling condition that often affects patients with advanced neoplasm. Conservative approach, repeated thoracentesis, pleurodesis and use of indwelling pleural catheters (IPC) are the main methods to deal with this condition.
