Protocol of the PLeural Effusion and Symptom Evaluation (PLEASE) study on the pathophysiology of breathlessness in patients with symptomatic pleural effusions [PDF]
Introduction: Pleural effusion is a common clinical problem that can complicate many medical conditions. Breathlessness is the most common symptom of pleural effusion of any cause and the most common reason for pleural drainage.

Ioka and colleagues present the results of a phase III study comparing gemcitabine and cisplatin plus Sā1 (GCS) with gemcitabine and cisplatin for unresectable or recurrent biliary tract cancer. GCS demonstrated survival benefits and a higher response rate, and could be the new standard chemotherapy for advanced biliary tract cancer.

Artificial Intelligence Enhanced Rapid and Efficient Diagnosis of Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Pneumonia in Children Patients [PDF]
Artificial intelligence methods have been increasingly turning into a potentially powerful tool in the diagnosis and management of diseases. In this study, we utilized logistic regression (LR), decision tree (DT), gradient boosted decision tree (GBDT), support vector machine (SVM), and multilayer perceptron (MLP) as machine learning models to rapidly ...

Diffusion Models for Medical Anomaly Detection [PDF]
In medical applications, weakly supervised anomaly detection methods are of great interest, as only image-level annotations are required for training. Current anomaly detection methods mainly rely on generative adversarial networks or autoencoder models.
