Development and Application of Analytical Methods for Marine Toxins
Shellfish accumulate marine toxins from their microalgal diet. The marine toxin tetrodotoxin (TTX) also accumulates in seafood, but via unknown mechanisms. Toxin determinations have traditionally been performed using live mouse bioassay.
