Non-invasive measurement of choroid plexus apparent blood flow with arterial spin labeling

open access: yesFluids and Barriers of the CNS, 2020
Background The choroid plexus is a major contributor to the generation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and the maintenance of its electrolyte and metabolite balance.

Long‐Term Nutritional Benefits of Laparoscopic Pancreatoduodenectomy Over Open Surgery

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Minimally invasive laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD) significantly improves long‐term nutritional outcomes compared to open pancreaticoduodenectomy (OPD). LPD patients demonstrated better preservation of muscle mass index (PMI) and a lower incidence of postoperative fatty liver.

Methylation profiling of choroid plexus tumors reveals 3 clinically distinct subgroups.

open access: yesNeuro-Oncology, 2016
BACKGROUND Choroid plexus tumors are intraventricular neoplasms derived from the choroid plexus epithelium. A better knowledge of molecular factors involved in choroid plexus tumor biology may aid in identifying patients at risk for recurrence ...

Development of the choroid plexus and blood-CSF barrier

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2015
Well-known as one of the main sources of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the choroid plexuses have been, and still remain, a relatively understudied tissue in neuroscience.

Identification of sex hormone-binding globulin in the human hypothalamus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Gonadal steroids are known to influence hypothalamic functions through both genomic and non-genomic pathways. Sex hormone-binding globulin ( SHBG) may act by a non-genomic mechanism independent of classical steroid receptors.

Discrepancy Between Radiographic and Pathological Response Assessment in Neoadjuvant Treatment for Pancreatic Cancer: A Comparison Between Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy and Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This study investigated the association between radiographic and pathological response assessments among patients with pancreatic cancer receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. The present study revealed that discrepancies between radiographic and histological responses may differ according to the type of therapy ...

Spatially Heterogeneous Choroid Plexus Transcriptomes Encode Positional Identity and Contribute to Regional CSF Production

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience, 2015
A sheet of choroid plexus epithelial cells extends into each cerebral ventricle and secretes signaling factors into the CSF. To evaluate whether differences in the CSF proteome across ventricles arise, in part, from regional differences in choroid plexus
