Intratympanic dexamethasone microcrystals/lidocaine‐loaded PLGA non‐spherical microparticles for local drug delivery to the inner ear

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Optimized lidocaine‐loaded PLGA non‐spherical particles (LPNMs) and dexamethasone microcrystals (DEX MCs) were prepared. They were then mixed in sodium hyaluronate solution to obtain a co‐delivery system, administrated in guinea pigs to evaluate the pharmacokinetics and biocompatibility of the system.

Assessing the therapeutic potential of Tirzepatide in modulating inflammatory responses and mitigating acute pancreatitis

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Tirzepatide: A peptide‐based GLP‐1/GIP receptor agonist, tested on L‐Arginine‐induced pancreatitis. Lipase/Amylase Levels: Initially elevated due to inflammation but normalized with Tirzepatide. Inflammatory Response: Reduction in pro‐inflammatory cytokines (IL‐6) and enhancement of anti‐inflammatory cytokines (IL‐4, IL‐10).

Pro‐Inflammatory c‐Met+ CD4 T Cells in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) binds exclusively the c‐Met surface receptor, and the HGF/c‐Met axis regulates T cell function in autoimmune diseases. We analyzed c‐Met expression on human CD4 T cells in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) versus non‐inflammatory neurological disease (NIND), to ...

The Amphioxus SoxB Family: Implications for the Evolution of Vertebrate Placodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Cranial placodes are regions of thickened ectoderm that give rise to sense organs and ganglia in the vertebrate head. Homologous structures are proposed to exist in urochordates, but have not been found in cephalochordates, suggesting the first chordates
