First occurrence of Etiella zinckenella (Treitschke) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) in soybean crops in Greece and its potential parasitoid Dolichogenidea appellator (Telenga) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae)

open access: yesEPPO Bulletin, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 494-502, December 2025.
Abstract This work documents the first occurrence of Etiella zinckenella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) infestations in soybean crops in Greece, and in particular within the Regional Unit of Drama, north‐eastern Greece. Larvae of this pest inflict direct damage by feeding on seeds and cause indirect damage by reducing crop marketability, resulting in ...

Effect of temperature and diet on Plodia interpunctella (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) development with special reference to Isomegalen diagram and accumulated degree days

open access: yesJournal of Entomological and Acarological Research, 2019
Immature development times of the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella were studied in the laboratory at four different constant temperatures (20, 23, 25, 27°C) reared on a standard diet (D1) and chocolate (D2).

De Novo Whole Genome Assemblies of Unusual Case‐Making Caddisflies (Trichoptera) Highlight Genomic Convergence in the Composition of the Major Silk Gene (h‐fibroin)

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part B: Molecular and Developmental Evolution, Volume 344, Issue 7, Page 442-453, November 2025.
The major silk gene, h‐fibroin, was annotated in high‐quality genomes of two unusual case‐making Trichoptera. H‐Fibroin of Limnocentropus insolitus shows a similar amino acid composition to other case‐making species, while the amino acid composition of h‐fibroin of Phryganopsyche brunnea resembles that of retreat‐making species.
