Megakaryocytic Ploidy in Myelodysplastic Syndromes
Leukemia & Lymphoma, 1993The megakaryocytic ploidy was microfluorometrically measured in 12 normal controls and 15 myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients using DAPI (4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole) staining after destaining of the Wright-Giemsa (WG) stain. MDS patients had slightly more immature megakaryocytes when compared with normal controls.

Versatility of reproductive modes and ploidy level interactions in Sorbus s.l. (Malinae, Rosaceae)
Botanical journal of the Linnean Society, 2019This study focuses on the frequency of reproductive modes and the role of reproductive mode variation in diversification of the genus Sorbus s.l. and evolutionary success of individual taxa.

The effect of cytokines on the ploidy of megakaryocytes
The International Journal of Cell Cloning, 1990The effects of recombinant cytokines on the ploidy of human megakaryocytes derived from megakaryocyte progenitors were studied using serum-free agar cultures. Nonadherent and T cell-depleted marrow cells were cultured for 14 days. Megakaryocyte colonies were identified in situ by the alkaline phosphatase anti-alkaline phosphatase technique, using ...

Ploidy in the hearts of elderly patients
Virchows Archiv B Cell Pathology Including Molecular Pathology, 1982The DNA-ploidy of the left and right ventricular wall in 48 patients aged 80-98 years was investigated by scanning cytophotometry. The great variation in nuclear ploidy previously described in the heart muscle was shown to persist during the ninth decade.

The puzzle of ploidy of Purkinje neurons
The Cerebellum, 2006This paper places attention on the discrepancies existing in the literature on the ploidy of Purkinje neurons and focuses on the special case of partial replication of their genome and on the unequal frequency of polyploid Purkinje neurons in the cerebellar cortex of the lobes and the vermis. Owing to the compartmental structure of the cerebellum, this

Ploidy Study in Sporothrix schenkii
Fungal Genetics and Biology, 1999Sporothrix schenckii is a dimorphic fungus that is pathogenic for humans. No sexual cycle has been reported for this fungus and little is known of its genetic constitution. To inquire into the ploidy state of Sporothrix schenckii, different approaches were followed: DNA content during transition from conidia to yeast, survival to ultraviolet ...
