A generalized framework for AMOVA with multiple hierarchies and ploidies.
Integrative Zoology, 2020The analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) is a widely used statistical method in population genetics and molecular ecology. The classic framework of AMOVA only supports haploid and diploid data, in which the number of hierarchies ranges from two to four.

Cytology, Ploidy and Ploidy Manipulation
2016The genus Actinidia is remarkable for the variation in ploidy both within and between taxa. There is a structured reticulate pattern of diploids, tetraploids, hexaploids, octoploids and decaploids in diminishing frequency within the genus. The basic chromosome number x = 29 suggests that diploids of Actinidia are in fact palaeopolyploids.

The determination of megakaryocyte ploidy
The International Journal of Cell Cloning, 1990Methods which have been used to determine megakaryocyte ploidy in animals and humans are reviewed. Although the number of megakaryocyte nuclear units counted in bone marrow squashes is roughly proportional to ploidy, accurate determinations of DNA content require the use of microphotometry or flow cytometry.

Cytokinesis, ploidy and aneuploidy
The Journal of Pathology, 2011AbstractCytokinesis is the last step of cell division that physically separates the daughter cells. As such, it ensures the proper inheritance of both nuclear and cytoplasmic contents. Accomplishment of cytokinesis in eukaryotes is dictated by several key events: establishment of the division plane, furrow ingression through contraction of an ...

Inferences of whole genome duplication (WGD) events accompany the annotation of every newly sequenced plant genome, but much remains unknown about the evolutionary processes and pathways relating to WGD (Soltis et al. 2010). What ecological, biogeographical and genetic factors cause WGD to occur in nature? How does WGD affect gene expression?

Versatility of reproductive modes and ploidy level interactions in Sorbus s.l. (Malinae, Rosaceae)
Botanical journal of the Linnean Society, 2019This study focuses on the frequency of reproductive modes and the role of reproductive mode variation in diversification of the genus Sorbus s.l. and evolutionary success of individual taxa.
