Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The plot thickens

open access: yes, 2011
Fiction based on real people and events poses particular challenges for the writer. While the outline of the story has already been sketched by reality, sometimes the plethora of facts can be overwhelming, making it difficult for the writer to find the ...

PROPOSITION D'UN CADRE D'ANALYSE DE LA QUALITE DE L'INFORMATION ENVIRONNEMENTALE DIFFUSEE DANS LES RAPPORTS ANNUELS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
International audienceL'objectif de ce papier est de développer une grille d'analyse de la qualité de l'information environnementale diffusée dans les rapports annuels et donc de définir des critères opérationnels de mesure de la qualité. Une information

Cross Recurrence Plot Based Synchronization of Time Series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The method of recurrence plots is extended to the cross recurrence plots (CRP), which among others enables the study of synchronization or time differences in two time series.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

DIALECTIC OF IDENTITY AND DIFFERENCES IN THE HISTORY OF RUSSIAN TRIOOLET

open access: yesГуманитарные и юридические исследования, 2021
The article features the reflection of the main development trends of Triolet in the Russian poetry of the XVIII-XX centuries, connected with dialectics the interaction of contrasts: traditional and innovative, stable and variable, symmetry and asymmetry,

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
