The State-of-the-Art of Set Visualization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Sets comprise a generic data model that has been used in a variety of data analysis problems. Such problems involve analysing and visualizing set relations between multiple sets defined over the same collection of elements. However, visualizing sets is a

Electronic diagnostics system for the analysis of laser beam profile

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Physics, 2011
In this work the analysis of laser beam profile system ,using a two dimensional CCD (Charge Coupled Device) arrays, is established. The system is capable of producing video graphics that give a two dimensional image of laser beam.

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

An Advanced, Three-Dimensional Plotting Library for Astronomy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a new, three-dimensional (3D) plotting library with advanced features, and support for standard and enhanced display devices. The library - S2PLOT - is written in C and can be used by C, C++ and FORTRAN programs on GNU/Linux and Apple/OSX ...

MathPSfrag: Creating Publication-Quality Labels in Mathematica Plots [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
This article introduces a Mathematica package providing a graphics export function that automatically replaces Mathematica expressions in a graphic by the corresponding LaTeX constructs and positions them correctly. It thus facilitates the creation of publication-quality Enscapulated PostScript (EPS) graphics.

Elucidating prognostic significance of purine metabolism in colorectal cancer through integrating data from transcriptomic, immunohistochemical, and single‐cell RNA sequencing analysis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low expression of five purine metabolism‐related genes (ADSL, APRT, ADCY3, NME3, NME6) was correlated with poor survival in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed that low NME3 (early stage) and low ADSL/NME6 (late stage) levels were associated with high risk.

Plotting positions close to the exact unbiased solution: application to the Pozzuoli's bradeysism earthquake data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Graphical techniques are recommended for critical applications in order to share information with non-statisticians, since they allow for a visual analysis and helpful understanding of the results. However, graphical estimation methods are often underestimated because of their minor efficiency with respect to the analytical ones.

The atypical KRASQ22K mutation directs TGF‐β response towards partial epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in patient‐derived colorectal cancer tumoroids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TGF‐β has a complex role in cancer, exhibiting both tumor‐suppressive and tumor‐promoting properties. Using a series of differentiated tumoroids, derived from different stages and mutational background of colorectal cancer patients, we replicate this duality of TGF‐β in vitro. Notably, the atypical but highly aggressive KRASQ22K mutation rendered early‐
