Cameras do not always take a full picture: wolf activity patterns revealed by accelerometers versus road‐positioned camera traps

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Camera traps have become an increasingly popular non‐invasive alternative to animal‐attached devices for studying wildlife behaviour. This study compared wolf (Canis lupus) activity patterns derived from collar accelerometers and road‐positioned camera traps and revealed strong overall agreement but also important seasonal and diel mismatches between ...

Gender, Social Reproduction and the Construction of Capabilities for Social Sustainability of Agriculture: A Relational Approach

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Farmers' capabilities, a core component of social sustainability, have been largely neglected in sustainable agriculture discourse. Using a relational approach to capabilities and autonomy, this study explores how women farmers translate the opportunity of agricultural innovation into their valued outcomes, and which factors shape their ...

Combining disturbance and competition to control creeping perennial weeds in a field study on three northern European sites

open access: yesFrontiers in Agronomy
Controlling creeping perennial weeds is challenging throughout all farming systems. The present study distinguished and explored three different methods to control them non-chemically: disturbance with inversion, disturbance without inversion, and ...

Farmers’ Preferences for Sustainable Crop Protection: An Integrated Choice and Latent Variable Approach

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study analyzes farmers' preferences for sustainable crop protection, focusing on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices by incorporating social‐psychological factors to capture economic and behavioral dimensions. Using data from German and Polish potato farmers, we apply an integrated choice and latent variable framework that combines

Influence of Viscous Dissipation on Wear Behavior and Hardness Evolution of Tool Steels in Glass‐Fiber‐Reinforced Polymer Processing

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Tool steels tested under injection molding conditions with glass‐fiber‐reinforced polymers, revealing how viscous dissipation drives hardness loss, even in PM grades. A sharp rise in wear with increasing injection volume rate and thermomechanical load uncovers striking material differences.

The Price Gap in Agriculture‐Based Greenhouse Gas Offset Markets

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Today, there is a global effort to reduce greenhouse gas net emissions (GHGNE). For economic well‐being, it is important to identify low‐cost means of net emission offsets. Agriculture and forestry have received considerable attention as a means of supplying emissions offsets, as they contribute nearly 20% of global emissions.
