THE CHAOTIC COST-PLUS PRICING MODEL

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Business and Management Research, 2012
In this paper, it is examined one pricing practice often used by oligopolistic firm: cost-plus pricing. Cost-plus pricing refers to the setting of a price equal to average variable cost plus a markup. The pricing of airline tickets illustrates this concept presented in this paper as it is applied in a real-world oligopolistic market.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Preliminary Stand Table for Average Dominant Trees of Jati Plus Perhutani in Saradan, Madiun, and Ngawi Forest Districs

open access: yesJurnal Manajemen Hutan Tropika, 2016
In order to realize sustainable teak forest management, the strategic plan of forest management is highly needed to establish the growth characteristics model of Jati Plus Perhutani (JPP). The most thing which cannot be ignored to estimate the growth and

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Topographic gradient effects on habitat quality in the Qinba Mountains: a study based on land use simulation and bioclimatic mechanisms

open access: yesOpen Geosciences
As a key ecological barrier and climatic divide in China, the Qinba Mountains in Shaanxi face growing habitat degradation under climate change and human activities. This study integrated the PLUS and InVEST models to analyze habitat quality dynamics from

Max-plus Modeling of Manufacturing Flow Lines

open access: yesProcedia CIRP, 2014
AbstractMax-plus algebra can be used to model manufacturing flow lines using linear state-space-like equations which can be used in analysis and control. This paper presents a method for easy and quick generation of the max-plus equations for manufacturing flow lines of any size or structure.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Protocol for non-invasive delivery of CRISPR RNPs via virus-like particles for mouse model generation

open access: yesSTAR Protocols
Summary: CRISPR-virus-like particle (VLP)-induced targeted mutagenesis (CRISPR-VIM) enables genome editing in mouse embryos through non-invasive delivery of CRISPR ribonucleoproteins (RNPs) via VLPs, eliminating the need for physical manipulation and ...
