CleAir monitoring system for particulate matter. A case in the Napoleonic Museum in Rome [PDF]
Monitoring the air particulate concentration both outdoors and indoors is becoming a more relevant issue in the past few decades. An innovative, fully automatic, monitoring system called CleAir is presented.

Late‐Onset Rheumatoid Arthritis and Air Pollution in the Multiethnic Cohort
Objective To evaluate the effects of ambient air pollution on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) incidence in a racially and ethnically diverse population. Methods This analysis included 42,152 California Multiethnic Cohort participants, aged ≥65 years (>70% African American and Latino adults) who were enrolled in the Fee For Service component of Medicare (2001–

Multivariate space-time modelling of multiple air pollutants and their health effects accounting for exposure uncertainty [PDF]
The long-term health effects of air pollution are often estimated using a spatio-temporal ecological areal unit study, but this design leads to the following statistical challenges: (1) how to estimate spatially representative pollution concentrations ...

Ships, ports and particulate air pollution - an analysis of recent studies [PDF]
The duration of use is usually significantly longer for marine vessels than for roadside vehicles. Therefore, these vessels are often powered by relatively old engines which may propagate air pollution.

Atmospheric Dispersion of PM10 in an Urban Area
Abstract One way of monitoring the atmospheric pollution is to estimate anthropogenic emissions. This paper presents a study of PM10 emissions in a city SE of Romania (Braila) for the period 2009-2012. PM10 emissions decrease from 304.75 t in 2009 to 78.01 t in 2012.

Spatial and Temporal Variability of the PM2.5/PM10 Ratio in Wuhan, Central China
Fine particles (PM2.5) and coarse particles (PM2.5–10) are generally produced by different sources, so the PM2.5/PM10 ratio reveals characteristics of particle pollution.

A Systemic Model for Understanding Business Interactions With Biodiversity and Ecosystems
ABSTRACT Biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation represent critical threats to human well‐being and economic resilience, challenging businesses to understand and manage their interdependence with natural systems. This study develops a systemic framework—the BioModel—that elucidates the reciprocal relationship between businesses, biodiversity, and ...

Analysis of Particulate Matter Composition
According to current research, particulate matter (PM) has a negative impact on citizens in particular (respiratory and cardiovascular diseases). Based on EU studies, deaths of 347,900 Europeans are attributable to air pollution. Formation of particulate
