Factors affecting superovulation in heifers treated with PMSG
Theriogenology, 1996In this study we determined 1) if the immunoneutralization of PMSG affected the ovulatory response, the number of large follicles and embryo yield compared with that of PMSG alone or pFSH, and 2) whether the stage of the estrous cycle at which PMSG was injected affected the ovulatory response and yield of embryos in superovulated heifers.

Superovulation using different doses of PMSG and monoclonal anti-PMSG in cattle
The object of the experiment was to examine the effects of mono¬clonal anti-PMSG (Neutra-PMSG; Intervet UK), the dose level of pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG), and the timing of administering anti-PMSG on embryo yield and guality.

The Use of a Monoclonal PMSG Antibody in Cows Superovulated with PMSG
Reproduction in Domestic Animals, 1985Contents A monoclonal PMSG antibody has been injected on the first day of standing heat in 15 superovulated cows (3 000 I.U. PMSG on day 10, 37.5 mg PGF2α on day 12). The treatment gave comparable results as when a PMSG antiserum raised in sheep was used i.e. a decreased number of unruptured follicles, a shorter external heat with less inseminations to

Superovulation in cattle using PMSG followed by PMSG-monoclonal antibodies
Animal Reproduction Science, 1993Abstract The advantages of using pregnant mares' serum gonadotrophin (PMSG) to stimulate increased preovulatory follicular development are that it is available in large quantities at low cost, and can be administered as a single dose because of its long half-life.

Some 19 buffaloes were synchronized by administration of a prostaglandin (PG) salt Lutalyse, with a single intramuscular (i.m.) injection of 25 mg at day -13. Luteolysis was induced by administration of 50 mg PG, in divided doses of 30 and 20 mg i.m. 12 h apart on day 0 of experiment. The 30 mg PG injection was designated as 0 h of experiment.

Possibilities for early characterization of the superovulatory response were studied in 41 PMSG/PG-treated dairy heifers, of which 21 received an additional treatment of PMSG-antiserum. Plasma was obtained at 33, 36, 41, 47 and 51 h after PG for hormone analyses. After slaughter at 6 or 7 d after insemination, the number of follicles and corpora lutea (

Influence of PMSG antiserum on serum progesterone and estrous cycles of PMSG-treated gilts
Canadian Journal of Animal Science, 1992Forty-seven prepubertal gilts (88.4 ± 0.9 kg) received an injection of 750 IU PMSG to stimulate ovarian activity. After 96 h, 23 gilts received an injection of an anti-PMSG serum. Blood samples were obtained at the time of PMSG injection (day 0) and at 2, 4, 6, 11, 18, 25 and 32 d.

A sandwich enzymeimmunoassay (EIA) for pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) using a microtiter plate was developed. Sensitivity of the assay to PMSG was 15.6 mIU/ml (0.2 ng/well). The PMSG levels in serum were measured with the EIA in superovulated and anti-PMSG rabbit antiserum treated mice and heifers.

Response of anestrous ewes to norgestomet and PMSG
Theriogenology, 1981A 10-day treatment regime with a subcutaneous ear implant containing 3 mg of norgestomet, accompanied by an intramuscular injection of 1.5 mg norgestomet and 0.5 mg estradiol valerate (EV) on day 1 and 750 I. U. pregnant mares serum gonadotropin (PMSG) given intravenously on day 10, proved effective in eliciting estrus in 72% of 110 anestrous ewes ...

The paper suggests an adaptive control of the wind permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) driven by a variable speed wind turbine. Processes in wind generator have been studied using a mathematical model. The results show suitability of using adaptive control using Optimal Singular Adaptive (OSA) observer.
