Flux-based control of PMSM

2010 12th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment, 2010
With increasing performance of magnet material and decreasing cost permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) become more and more important for practical use in light railway and e-car applications. Excellent torque dynamics are extremely important in these applications - not because of acceleration or deceleration, but to meet additional demands as

VHFIM sensorless control of PMSM

2010 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2010
The paper deals with combined real-time model of PM synchronous motor for sensorless position control. Real-parametric-and real-time model could be ideal tools for both control and simulation of the PMSM position drive. Unfortunately that idealized model doesn't exist so far.

Control algorithms for a fault-tolerant PMSM drive

31st Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2005. IECON 2005., 2005
This paper proposes control algorithms for a fault-tolerant permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive. In order to improve the reliability of the drive, an algorithm for achieving a sensorless control that operates properly also in fault mode is proposed.

Experimental research at traction PMSMs

Proceedings of 21st International Conference Radioelektronika 2011, 2011
The paper deals with the significant results of the experimental research of the harmonic spectrum of currents and induced voltages at traction permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The experiments were done in a special workplace with a real traction drive for wheel vehicles. The current harmonic spectrums were analyzed by a specialized device on

Recent technical trends in PMSM

2014 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 - ECCE ASIA), 2014
This paper overviews the recent technical trends in permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), especially the rare-earth less PMSMs in Japan. The rareearth less PMSMs including the PMSMs with reduced rareearth PMs, permanent magnet assisted synchronous motors with ferrite magnets and axial gap PMSMs with ferrite magnets are reviewed.

Position observer for salient PMSM with measured speed

2017 25th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation (MED), 2017
This paper addresses the problem of position estimation for salient permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs). It is assumed that stator currents and voltages and rotor speed are measurable signals. Two extensions of the position observer are presented - the first one is based on a standard gradient estimator and the second observer uses recently ...

Pseudo Sensorless Control of PMSM

2006 12th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference, 2006
Pseudo sensorless permanent magnet synchronous motor torque and flux tracking control algorithm is presented. Proposed approach addresses the problem of operation at zero, low and up to nominal speed. The information of flux is extracted using a nonlinear closed loop rotor flux observer combined with the information obtained from hall sensors, which ...

Nonlinear torque control for PMSM

Melecon 2010 - 2010 15th IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference, 2010
This study presents a novel means of designing a simple and effective torque control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). The overall stability of the system is shown using Lyapunov technique. The Lyapunov functions used contain a term penalizing incremental energy of control error, torque and stator flux, enhancing the stability.

Introduction of PMSM Control Methods

2019
Vector control is based on the rotor flux orientation. Torque control of the PMSM can be achieved by controlling the stator current vector. Using vector control method, the PMSM can obtain the same satisfactory control performance as the DC motor. Nowadays, vector control method has been widely used in the high-performance motor drives.
