The crystallographic structure of Panicum Mosaic Virus (PMV) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Structural Biology, 2013
The structure of Panicum Mosaic Virus (PMV) was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis to 2.9Å resolution. The crystals were of pseudo symmetry F23; the true crystallographic unit cell was of space group P2(1) with a=411.7Å, b=403.9Å and c=412.5Å, with β=89.7°. The asymmetric unit was two entire T=3 virus particles, or 360 protein subunits.

A Bibliometric Review of the INCOSE's Model‐Based Systems Engineering Roadmap

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Over the past decade, model‐based systems engineering (MBSE) has gained attention as an approach for managing system complexity, offering a shift from a document‐based to a model‐based approach. The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) sparked increasing interest when it introduced MBSE and its roadmap as part of its systems ...

Research on thermal comfort and indoor air quality: a case study on an office building

open access: yesMegaron, 2017
Indoor air quality rises in importance when considering that people spend large part of their time in enclosed spaces where indoor air is more polluted than outdoor environment.

Quantitative Evaluation of Effects of Airflow from Cross-flow Fans on Passengers' Thermal Comfort in Commuter Vehicles

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
Almost all commuter trains in Japan are equipped with cross-flow fans in order to circulate the air in a cabin and provide beneficial cooling to passengers, especially during the hot and humid summer seasons.

Advances to ASHRAE Standard 55 to encourage more effective building practice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
ASHRAE Standard 55 has been evolving in recent years to encourage more sustainable building designs and operational practices. A series of changes address issues for which past design practice has been deficient or overly constrained. Some of the changes

Different Knots, Same Outcome: Evaluating the Role of Surgical Technique on Biliary Anastomotic Strictures After Liver Transplantation

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
Biliary anastomotic strictures (BAS) after liver transplant (LT) are a significant contributor to post‐transplant morbidity. Although surgical technique has been proposed as a risk factor, accurate evaluation of technique has been limited by inherent bias in conventional definitions for BAS.

Research on Power Frequency Insulation Properties and Configurations of CF3SO2F Gas Mixture for Industrial Applications

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The breakdown characteristics of the novel eco‐friendly insulating gas CF3SO2F are fundamental to the design of gas‐insulated equipment. In this paper, the gas mixture parameters for CF3SO2F were optimised for different ambient temperatures in order to ascertain the insulation performance and liquefaction temperature constraints.

Notes on divisible MV-algebras

open access: yes, 2016
In these notes we study the class of divisible MV-algebras inside the algebraic hierarchy of MV-algebras with product. We connect divisible MV-algebras with $\mathbb Q$-vector lattices, we present the divisible hull as a categorical adjunction and we ...
