HPLC DETECTION OF SERUM AND URINARY PARAPHENYLENE DIAMINE (PPD) LEVEL AND ITS METABOLITES IN RELATION TO CARDIAC TOXICITY [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Forensic Sciences and Applied Toxicology, 2021
Hair dye poisoning is an emerging big problem in Upper Egypt. The main component of hair dye causing toxicity is para-phenylenediamine (PPD). Ingestion of PPD could be accidental or suicidal. After oral intake it is metabolized in the liver into N-mono- (

A neutrophil-based test as an auxiliary tool for substantiating the diagnosis of bovine tuberculosis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mycobacteriology, 2022
Background: Bovine tuberculosis (bTB) is still a prominent threat to animal health; lacking an efficient vaccine, other than BCG to get rid of tuberculosis, the most effective way for this is culling and slaughtering the infected animals.

Purified Protein Derivative - PPD [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2006
A 55-year-old physician had a PPD made as part of a clinical evaluation. Laboratory tests were unremarkable and PPD, read in 48 hours, showed an area of induration of 18 mm and an erythema of 51 mm (Panel A). A 2 mm punch biopsy was done in the center of the induration 96 hours after the injection.

Numerical and experimental investigation on the thermal behaviour of the building integrating occupant thermal comfort [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2020
Simulation tools are widely used to model buildings in order to predict their indoor air quality and energy consumption. The prediction capability of the model is an influential factor in determining the ability of the building to be energy efficient and

[Tuberculin sensitivity to purified protein derivatives (PPD) from M. intracellulare (PPD-B), M. kansasii (PPD-Y), M. fortuitum (PPD-Y) and M. tuberculosis (PPDs) among healthy volunteers].

open access: yesKekkaku : [Tuberculosis], 1993
To reveal the epidemiology of mycobacteria other than Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Japan, we tested 379 healthy volunteers from Self Defence Force Army stationed in Hiroshima Prefecture with 0.05mcg of PPDs, 0.1mcg of PPD-B, PPD-Y and PPD-F. Majority of the volunteers had been immunized with BCG by thirteen years old.

Haplotypes of Ppd-D1 gene and alleles of Ppd-A1 and Ppd-B1 in Ukrainian bread wheat varieties

open access: yesVisnyk of Lviv University. Biological series, 2019
Modern Ukrainian bread wheat varieties are not enough characterized by the alleles of Ppd genes and there is very restricted information about haplotypes of these genes in Ukrainian wheat genetic pool. The dominant alleles ( a ) of Ppd-A1 (2A), Ppd-B1 (2B), Ppd-D1 (2D) genes reduce sensitivity to photoperiod thus shorten the period until earing ...
