MOLECULAR AND PATHOLOGICAL STUDIES OF POST-WEANING MULTI-SYSTEMIC WASTING SYNDROME AMONG PIGLETS IN KERALA, INDIA [PDF]

open access: yesExploratory Animal and Medical Research, 2019
Post weaning multi systemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) is an economically important porcine viral associated diseases caused by porcine circovirus 2(PCV2) in weaned piglets worldwide. Recently, the presence of PCV2 was reported in pig population of Kerala.

Vascular lesions and pneumonia in a pig fetus infected by porcine circovirus type 2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) associated reproductive disease was diagnosed in a herd containing only gilts. A single case of abortion occurred and no other disorder was evident in the herd. PCV2 antigen and/or DNA were detected in two aborted fetuses.

Effect of high and low levels of maternally derived antibodies on porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) infection dynamics and production parameters in PCV2 vaccinated pigs under field conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The present study aimed to compare the efficacy of a porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) commercial vaccine in terms of average daily weight gain (ADWG) as well as infection dynamics in pigs with different maternally derived antibody (MDA) levels.

Complete genomic cloning and sequence analysis of PCV2 isolates from pigs with PMWS in different geographic regions of Zhejiang Province

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2005
Postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) is an emerging disease in swine herds worldwide. Increasing evidence indicates that porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is responsible for PMWS.

Porcine circovirus diseases [PDF]

open access: yesMacedonian Veterinary Review, 2009
Porcine circovirus type 2 belongs on the family Circoviridae. This virus family includes small, non-enveloped viruses, with a circular, single-standed DNA genome. This virus causes mainly subclinical infections, but a number of diseases have been linked ...

Visual and label-free ASFV and PCV2 detection by CRISPR-Cas12a combined with G-quadruplex

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2022
African swine fever (ASF) and postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) are acute infectious diseases caused by the African swine fever virus (ASFV) and porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2).

Comparison of serum pools and oral fluid samples for detection of porcine circovirus type 2 by quantitative real-time PCR in finisher pigs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) diagnostics in live pigs often involves pooled serum and/or oral fluid samples for group-level determination of viral load by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR).

All‐sky assimilation impacts of the Tomorrow.io microwave sounder constellation on global weather forecasts

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Key Findings: An assimilation methodology is established for the Tomorrow.io microwave sounder (TMS) flying on CubeSats in sun‐synchronous and inclined orbits, and in all cloud scenes. The TMS has a significant impact on weather forecast lead times up to 3 days in the Tropics in a research‐quality numerical weather prediction setting, and yields water ...

Harnessing Bulk‐Segregant Mapping to Identify Trait‐Associated Genes in the Allopolyploid Model Plant Nicotiana benthamiana

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Forward genetics has been instrumental in identifying genes underlying desirable traits, yet its application to polyploid plants, many of which are key agricultural crops, remains challenging due to their genomic complexity. Therefore, we developed BenthMap, a bulk segregant analysis platform for high‐throughput trait mapping and gene ...
