Pneumatics and Electro-pneumatic Control Laboratory
2010 International Conference on e-Education, e-Business, e-Management and e-Learning, 2010Production system pneumatics control laboratory serve for teaching automatic control principles and programming in flexible production via various control modes often used in the technical practice. In this laboratory there are applied real elements of control systems.

Pneumatic retinopexy, a term introduced by Hilton in 1985, describes a recently revised and modified operation used for primary rhegmatogenous retinal reattachment. A gas bubble is injected into the vitreous cavity and the patient positioned so that the bubble closes the retinal break, permitting resorption of subretinal fluid. A chorioretinal adhesion

The Pneumatic Biped ?Lucy? Actuated with Pleated Pneumatic Artificial Muscles
Autonomous Robots, 2005This paper reports on the bipedal robot Lucy which is actuated by pleated pneumatic artificial muscles. This novel actuator is very suitable to be used in machines which move by means of legs. Besides its high power to weight ratio the actuator has an adaptable passive behavior, meaning the stiffness of the actuator can be changed on-line.

The rehabilitation of the amputee has always challenged the ability of the surgeon, the ingenuity of the limb maker, and the social imagination of the public spirited citizen. Only their collaboration can eliminate the stigma of defect and restore the patient's capacity for gainful employment. The amputee is faced by a triple threat. First, the obvious
