Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Slit Tubes for Semisoft Pneumatic Actuators
AbstractThis article describes a new principle for designing soft or ‘semisoft’ pneumatic actuators: SLiT (for SLit‐in‐Tube) actuators. Inflating an elastomeric balloon, when enclosed by an external shell (a material with higher Young's modulus) containing slits of different directions and lengths, produces a variety of motions, including bending ...

Electrocapillary Modulated Interfacial Tension Amplifies Liquid Metal Transduction
This study presented an electrocapillary‐enhanced magnetohydrodynamic pumping strategy that harnesses the Lorentz force and interfacial tension modulation of liquid metal droplets to achieve amplified fluidic power. The system enabled low‐voltage, self‐oscillating fluidic transduction with enhanced pressure and flow generation, supporting compact ...

Self-Sensing Pneumatic Compressing Actuator [PDF]
Using soft pneumatic actuator is a feasible solution in the complex unstructured environment, owing to their inherent compliance, light weight, and safety. However, due to the limitations of soft actuators' materials and structures, they fall short of motion accuracy and load capacity, or need large-size, bulky compressors.
