Flagellins as Vaccine Adjuvants and Cancer Immunotherapy: Recent Advances and Future Prospects

open access: yesImmunology, EarlyView.
The figure depicts the role of flagellin in immune cells. Flagellin interacts with TLR5, resulting in the formation of homodimers and the recruitment of MyD88, which activates the IκB and MAPK signalling pathways. This results in the activation of NF‐κB and AP‐1, producing TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐8, and IL‐12.

Tissue Resident Memory Cells: Friend or Foe?

open access: yesImmunology, EarlyView.
Tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRM cells) are specialised immune cells in barrier tissues like the lungs, skin and gut, providing rapid host defence and tumour surveillance. Their retention and differentiation are regulated by molecules such as CD69, CD103 and TGF‐β. Dysregulation of TRM cells can lead to chronic activation, driving conditions such as

Systemic treatment of immune checkpoint inhibitor‐induced psoriasis: Inference‐based guidance

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
When managing psoriasis, induced or exacerbated by ICI therapy for cancer, there are concerns regarding immunosuppression from systemic agents for the treatment of psoriasis and the potential impact on ICI efficacy. No direct, high‐level evidence exists to address these concerns.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)‐Related Hospitalization and Increased Rate of Cardiovascular Events in Older Adults

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Recent studies suggest that respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) can cause severe illness in terms of in‐hospital outcomes and mortality. The degree to which RSV hospitalization is associated with cardiovascular outcomes, particularly those known to occur following acute respiratory infections, is poorly described. Methods We conducted
