Chest, 1991Extrapulmonary Pneumocystis carinii infection is a rare occurrence in patients with AIDS. Pleural involvement has been demonstrated in only one case, and this occurred after pneumothorax. This is a case report of pleural pneumocystosis in a patient with AIDS who did not have a pneumothorax.
