Efficacy of Portable Ultrasonography for Early Detection of Pneumothorax Following Lung Biopsy [PDF]
Background Pneumothorax is a notable complication of lung biopsy, and its early detection is crucial. This study aimed to compare the sensitivities of handheld portable lung ultrasonography and chest radiography in identifying early pneumothorax post ...

Clinical Use of Lung Ultrasound by Emergency and Intensive Care Physicians: A Swiss National Survey
Lung ultrasound is widely used by emergency and ICU physicians, especially for evaluating dyspnea, shock, and hypoxemia. Despite high clinical relevance, gaps in formal training and protocol standardization persist. Enhancing education and harmonizing practices is essential for optimizing LUS integration into acute care.

Thoracic ultrasound frequently altered ICU management decisions. Changes were more likely in patients with cardiovascular disease or hypovolemia and occurred independently of operator certification. These findings support the routine use of TUS in critically ill patients, even when performed by less‐experienced but supervised operators.

Lung ultrasound: a valid help in the differential diagnosis between pneumothorax and pulmonary blebs
Spontaneous pneumothorax is a relatively common disease but its radiological diagnosis can be difficult because of the insufficient sensitivity of chest X-rays. This is even more so when bullous emphysema and acute pneumothorax co-exist.
