Mitochondrial Replacement Techniques and Mexico’s Rule of Law: On the Legality of the First Maternal Spindle Transfer Case [PDF]
News about the first baby born after a mitochondrial replacement technique (MRT; specifically maternal spindle transfer) broke on September 27, 2016 and, in a matter of hours, went global.

Abstract Allosteric modulation enables precise control of protein activity but remains difficult to harness for selective inhibitor design. Traditional high‐throughput screening for allosteric modulators is still costly and time‐consuming, underscoring the need for predictive computational approaches.

The topological structure of scaling limits of large planar maps
We discuss scaling limits of large bipartite planar maps. If p is a fixed integer strictly greater than 1, we consider a random planar map M(n) which is uniformly distributed over the set of all 2p-angulations with n faces.

ABSTRACT This study examines hydroxytyrosol (HXT), a natural antioxidant, as a partial substitute for curing agents in fermented dry‐cured organic sausages. Increasing health concerns regarding nitrates/nitrites, along with EU efforts to reduce their use, highlight the need for alternatives.

Abstract Objective Precise localization of epileptogenic tissue is critical for successful surgery in drug‐resistant temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) but is challenging in those requiring intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG). A range of modalities are used for localization, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and EEG, which are typically ...

A graphene‐based bowtie plasmonic nanotweezer is designed and optimized using particle swarm optimization and transfer matrix analysis. The structure achieves strong field confinement, delivering trapping forces up to 6 nN W−1 for 10 nm bioparticles with sixfold lower power requirements than conventional designs.

This paper provides a comprehensive theoretical and experimental description of how to exploit Starlink low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites for positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT). First, the paper reveals for the first time, the full Starlink orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) beacon, which spans the whole time-frequency resource ...
