Abstract Premise Root hemiparasites form haustoria in belowground roots of hosts to extract nutrients and water from the surrounding hosts. Through parasitic symbiosis, these plants disproportionately affect plant communities relative to their abundance by reducing host size, altering nutrient flow, and eventually increasing local biodiversity.

Improved glass meltability enabled semi‐industrial prototyping of a residue‐derived PK fertiliser. Firing produced mechanically stable micropellets and induced partial vitrification, pore‐network reorganisation, delayed P release, but restricted K availability; 6‐month field trials on turfgrass and Photinia supported agronomic feasibility.

Phytolith analysis of Poa pratensis (Poaceae) leaves
Phytoliths in Poa pratensis L. (Poaceae) leaf blades and sheaths are described in this study. The role of plant opal particles-known as phytoliths-is considerable in taxonomical studies, and their long-term preservation in sediments makes them a useful tool in the reconstruction of ancient plant communities and plant-human interactions.
