Temporal profiles of pod production and pod set in soybean
European Journal of Agronomy, 2006Abstract The distribution of flower and pod production during flowering may be an important determinant of pod and seed number in grain crops. We characterized the dynamics of small pod production and survival to maturity on indeterminate and determinate soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill)] cultivars growing in the field or greenhouse.

PODS — A project on diverse software
IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 1986A review of the Project on Diverse Software (PODS), a collaborative software reliability research project, is presented. The purpose of the project was to determine the effect of a number of different software development techniques on software reliability.

Points of distribution, also known as points of dispensing (POD), are a means for public and private organizations to assist their communities in times of crisis. There are two principal categories of PODs, open and closed, but all PODs differ in design, properties, and application.

The issues of construction of lowdimensional models for heat transfer problems are discussed. The various aspects of applying method of proper orthogonal decomposition are analysed. It is shown effectiveness and perspective of this method for analyzing problems in the irregular domain.

A novel nature-inspired deterministic derivative-free global optimization method, namely the dolphin pod optimization (DPO), is presented for solving simulation-based design optimization problems with costly objective functions. DPO implements, using a deterministic approach, the global search ability provided by a cetacean intelligence metaphor.

Discovering and Visualizing Operations Processes with POD-Discovery and POD-Viz
2015 45th Annual IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks, 2015Understanding the behavior of an operations process and capturing it as an abstract process model has been shown to improve dependability significantly [1]. In particular, process context can be used for error detection, diagnosis, and even automated recovery.

Pod characters associated with pod damage by legume pod borer in yard - long bean
Madras Agricultural Journal, 2002A field experiment with 51 yard-long bean cultivars revealed significant variation. in pod damage by legume pod borer among the cultivars. There was significant negative correlation between density of non-glandular trichomes on pod wall and severity of pod damage.

Selection for pod retention and pod indehiscence in lentils
Euphytica, 1985The genetic variation for seed yield losses and the response to selection for reduction of such losses was studied by a six-week delay in the timing of harvest in various segregating populations from four lentil crosses. The bulk segregating populations had previously been subjected to different numbers of selection by means of a delayed harvest.
