THE BEAN POD BORERS IN PUERTO RICO
Three species of pod borers, Maruca testulalis (Geyer), Etiella zinckenella (Treitschke), and Fundella cistipennis (Dyar), were found commonly in 1985-36 infesting wild and cultivated leguminous plants in all parts of Puerto Rico. E. zinckenella and M.

The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Bioassay and molecular tests of transgenic chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) resistant to Helicoverpa armigera Hub. [PDF]
Pod borer is one of the main causes for yield loss of chickpea. Therefore, breeding of chickpea for resistance to this pest is important. The use of Cry toxin from Bacillus thuringiensis is an effective strategy for producing of transgenic resistant ...

The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Using bioproducts for soybean protection against the soybean pod borer (Leguminivora glycinivorella Mats.) under the conditions of the steppe zone of Primorsky kray [PDF]
This paper presents the results of a study on bioproducts BioKill, EC, and Proclaim, WG, against the soybean pod borer (Leguminivora glycinivorella Mats.), which damages soybean pods in the agroecosystems of Primorsky kray.

The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of
