Abstract We investigate an initial‐boundary value problem of non‐isothermal nematic liquid crystal flows with temperature‐dependent viscosity in three‐dimensional bounded domains. Based on the time‐weighted energy estimates, we derive the existence of a unique global strong solution under some smallness condition.

Frequency‐dependent contraction rates for the Bayesian method to the inverse source problem
Abstract This paper addresses an inverse source problem for acoustic waves in a range of frequencies. Our study has two main goals. First, although the problem is severely ill‐posed with a logarithmic stability estimate, we demonstrate, through careful analysis of the forward map's singular values, that increasing the frequency range enhances stability,

Local multiplicativity of perverse filtrations
Abstract Let f:S→C$f:S\rightarrow C$ be a proper surjective morphism from a smooth Kähler surface to a smooth curve. We show that the local perverse filtration associated with the induced map S[n]→C(n)$S^{[n]}\rightarrow C^{(n)}$ is multiplicative on each fiber if and only if f$f$ is an elliptic fibration.

Effects of pesticide dose on Holling II predator–prey model with feedback control
We establish a Holling II predator–prey system with pesticide dose response non-linear pulses and then study the global dynamics of the model. First, we construct the Poincaré map in the phase set and discuss its main properties.

ABSTRACT The leading‐order asymptotic behavior of the solution of the Cauchy initial‐value problem for the Benjamin–Ono equation in L2(R)$L^2(\mathbb {R})$ is obtained explicitly for generic rational initial data u0$u_0$. An explicit asymptotic wave profile uZD(t,x;ε)$u^\mathrm{ZD}(t,x;\epsilon)$ is given, in terms of the branches of the multivalued ...

Topological Entropy of One Type of Nonoriented Lorenz-Type Maps
Constructing a Poincaré map is a method that is often used to study high-dimensional dynamical systems. In this paper, a geometric model of nonoriented Lorenz-type attractor is studied using this method, and its dynamical property is described.

Accurate and Efficient Data‐Driven Partitioned Scheme for Coupled Heterogeneous Numerical Models
ABSTRACT Heterogeneous numerical models (HNMs) combine conventional discretization modules such as finite elements with nonconventional data‐driven and reduced‐order modules. HNMs can improve computational efficiency and enable simulations of multi‐physics systems in which one or more constituent components lack first‐principles descriptions and must ...

Rothe Time Discretization and Weak Solutions for a Cutoff Westervelt System
ABSTRACTWe study a fully implicit Rothe time discretization for a cutoff first‐order formulation of the Westervelt equation. The key ingredients are the enthalpy variable and the primitive mobility variable, which turn each nonlinear time step into a uniformly monotone elliptic problem and avoid higher‐order energy estimates and inverse inequalities ...
