Biochip readout system for point-of-care applications
Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2009A new low cost biochip readout system based on total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) including microfluidics is presented. The system is suitable for point-of-care diagnostics employing disposable substrates made of polymer foils producible at very low costs. Results for the reader sensitivity and dynamic range in comparison to state of the art

Revolutionizing Point-of-Care Diagnostics via CRISPR Systems
ACS Synthetic BiologyMolecular diagnostics are pivotal in ensuring optimal quality of life by enabling early detection of infections and diseases. The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly underscored the vital role of molecular diagnostics, especially point-of-care (POC) diagnostics, in managing global health crises.

Compact point-of-care system for clinical diagnostics
Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2009Objective of the study is the simultaneous measurement of three sepsis relevant parameters using a novel point-of-care system. Investigated parameters are C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and procalcitonin (PCT). The format is a fluorescence and microarray-based sandwich immunoassay.

Speech Interfaces for Point-of-Care Guideline Systems
2003A major limiting factor in the acceptability of interactive guideline and decision support systems is the ease of use of the system in the clinic. A way to reduce demands upon users and increase flexibility of the interface is to use natural language dialogues and speech based interfaces.

Point-of-care molecular diagnostic systems — past, present and future
Current Opinion in Microbiology, 2005The field of molecular diagnostics has greatly decreased the time it takes to identify infectious agents and to test their antimicrobial resistance. Portable devices are currently in development that can easily identify a variety of nucleic acid targets (either DNA or RNA) from multiple sample types in under an hour.

Successfully implementing a point-of-care system.
Computers in healthcare, 1988To research this article, two hospitals were interviewed who recently installed a point-of-care system. They were asked, "Do the general criteria for HIS success apply to point-of-care systems, and if so, how specifically did they enter into your implementation efforts?"

Patient care systems. Point-of-care revolution.
Computers in healthcare, 1991Interest in bedside information systems continues steadily, and purchasers now view point-of-care systems as a "when" and not an "if" acquisition, according to a comparison of three Computers in Healthcare surveys on this technology. Yet, cost justification and return on investment still wave cautionary flags that keep growth in this market fairly slow.

A perspective on point of care systems.
Topics in health information management, 1994Point of care technology is finally being accepted in health care organizations. Portable wireless computers and database interoperability are facilitating this acceptance. Using point of care devices, caregivers can access and input patient data whenever, wherever, and however required. This technology will improve patient data access, improve quality,
