Establishing an Apheresis Medicine Program in a Resource‐Constrained Setting: A 5‐Year Experience From Lagos, Nigeria

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Establishing a comprehensive apheresis medicine program in a resource‐constrained setting presents significant structural, financial, and logistical challenges. Despite the growing clinical importance of apheresis services globally, published experience from sub‐Saharan Africa remains sparse.

Towards a practical implementation of X-ray ghost imaging with synchrotron light

open access: yesIUCrJ, 2018
An experimental procedure for transmission X-ray ghost imaging using synchrotron light is presented. Hard X-rays from an undulator were divided by a beamsplitter to produce two copies of a speckled incident beam.

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Study Point Spread Function for Eccentric Circular Aperture with Gaussian Illumination

open access: yesJournal of Kufa-Physics, 2019
In this research we studied the effect of Gaussian filter on point spread function(PSF) for an optical system consisted of circular aperture with non-central circular obscuration with Gaussian Illumination.

Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Point spread function of microscopic light field imaging based on wave optics

open access: yes, 2019
The light field Micro-PIV deconvolutes the light field image by Lucy-Richardson (L-R) algorithm to obtain the three-dimensional coordinate information of the tracer particle. The accurate point spread function (PSF) is the premise of the L-R algorithm to

Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

On-the-fly estimation of a microscopy point spread function

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
A proper estimation of realistic point-spread function (PSF) in optical microscopy can significantly improve the deconvolution performance and assist the microscope calibration process. In this work, by exemplifying 3D wide-field fluorescence microscopy, we propose an approach for estimating the spherically aberrated PSF of a microscope, directly from ...
