Precessing Jets and Point-Symmetric Nebulae [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1995
We present a model for the formation of point-symmetric nebulae that relies on the existence of a precessing jet interacting with the interstellar medium (ISM). Using three-dimensional numerical simulations, we investigate the basic gasdynamics inherent to the model.

Observation of an anti-PT-symmetric exceptional point and energy-difference conserving dynamics in electrical circuit resonators

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
The study of parity-time (PT) symmetric optical systems has recently attracted much attention. Here, the authors experimentally study an anti-PT symmetric circuit system and observe an exceptional point with an inverse PT symmetry breaking transition and

Point-symmetric graphs with a prime number of points

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, 1967
AbstractThis paper discusses point-symmetric graphs which have a prime number of points. Isomorphism classes of these graphs are enumerated. It is shown that these graphs are characterized by the eigenvalues of their adjacency matrices. Finally it is shown hat point-symmetric graphs with a prime number of points are group-graphs.

Fixed Point Results in Partial Symmetric Spaces with an Application

open access: yesAxioms, 2019
In this paper, we first introduce the class of partial symmetric spaces and then prove some fixed point theorems in such spaces. We use one of the our main results to examine the existence and uniqueness of a solution for a system of Fredholm integral ...

Wobbling Accretion Disks, Jets, and Point‐symmetric Nebulae [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1997
We present numerical calculations of the evolution of an accretion disk that is irradiated by a central source. The parameters chosen represent those of the central star of a planetary nebula. We show that an irradiation-induced warping can occur in the disk and that it is accompanied by a wobbling motion in both the inclination and azimuthal ...

The Formation of Point-symmetric Nebulae

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1996
A number of the extended planetary nebulae show point-symmetric morphology, and it has been suggested that such a morphology is the consequence of the episodic ejection of material in a two-sided jet. Here we show that the accretion disk, previously postulated to be formed in the final stages of common envelope evolution giving rise to the planetary ...

Correction to: Morphokinematic modelling of the point-symmetric Cat's Eye, NGC 6543: Ring-like remnants of a precessing jet [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2022
The planetary nebula known as the Cat's Eye Nebula (NGC 6543) has a complex, point-symmetric morphology that cannot be fully explained by the current theory of planetary nebula formation, the Interacting Stellar Winds Model.

Fault Diagnosis of Axial Piston Pump Based on Extreme-Point Symmetric Mode Decomposition and Random Forests

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
Aiming at fault diagnosis of axial piston pumps, a new fusion method based on the extreme-point symmetric mode decomposition method (ESMD) and random forests (RFs) was proposed.

Asymmetrical PZT applied to active reduction of asymmetrically vibrating beam – semi-analytical solution [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2022
The article extended the idea of active vibration reduction of beams with symmetric modes to beams with asymmetric modes. In the case of symmetric modes, the symmetric PZT (s-PZT) was used, and the optimization of the problem led to the location of the s-

Three-loop vertex integrals at symmetric point

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
This paper provides details of the massless three-loop three-point integrals calculation at the symmetric point. Our work aimed to extend known two-loop results for such integrals to the three-loop level.
