The chiral ring of a symmetric orbifold and its large N limit

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We analyze the chiral operator ring of the symmetric orbifold conformal field theory on the complex two-plane ℂ2. We compute the large N limit of the ring and exhibit its factorized leading order behaviour.

Multipolar Planetary Nebulae: Not as Geometrically Diversified as Thought [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Planetary nebulae (PNe) have diverse morphological shapes, including point-symmetric and multipolar structures. Many PNe also have complicated internal structures such as torus, lobes, knots, and ansae.

Point-Symmetric Extension-Based Interval Shannon-Cosine Spectral Method for Fractional PDEs [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2020
The approximation accuracy of the wavelet spectral method for the fractional PDEs is sensitive to the order of the fractional derivative and the boundary condition of the PDEs. In order to overcome the shortcoming, an interval Shannon-Cosine wavelet based on the point-symmetric extension is constructed, and the corresponding spectral method on the ...

Broadband 1×8 channel silicon-nanowire-waveguide WDM filter based on point-symmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometric optical couplers in the O-band spectral regime

open access: yes, 2019
Novel broadband operating 1×8 channel wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) optical filter is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The proposed 1×8 channel WDM filter is composed of third-stage delayed interferometers with point-symmetric Mach ...

Dynamically encircling an exceptional point in anti-parity-time symmetric systems: asymmetric mode switching for symmetry-broken modes [PDF]

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2018
Dynamically encircling an exceptional point (EP) in parity-time (PT) symmetric waveguide systems exhibits interesting chiral dynamics that can be applied to asymmetric mode switching for symmetric and anti-symmetric modes. The counterpart symmetry-broken

Complexity Analysis of Precipitation and Runoff Series Based on Approximate Entropy and Extreme-Point Symmetric Mode Decomposition

open access: yesWater, 2018
Many regional hydrological regime changes are complex under the influences of climate change and human activities, which make it difficult to understand the regional or basin al hydrological status.

Fluctuations and noise-limited sensing near the exceptional point of parity-time-symmetric resonator systems [PDF]

open access: yesOptica, 2018
Exceptional points of parity-time (PT) symmetric systems hold an intriguing potential for highly sensitive sensors. Here, we theoretically explore the role of mesoscopic fluctuations and noise on the spectral and temporal properties of systems of PT ...

Generalized contraction theorem in M -fuzzy cone metric spaces

open access: yesJournal of Innovative Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences, 2022
This work defines MM-Fuzzy Cone Metric Space, as a new metric space. It also analyzes possible forms of contractive conditions and groups them accordingly to set up generalized contractive conditions for self-mappings defined over MM-fuzzy cone metric ...

When is the ball a local pessimum for covering?

open access: yes, 2014
We consider the problem of identifying the worst point-symmetric shape for covering n-dimensional Euclidean space with lattice translates. Here we focus on the dimensions where the thinnest lattice covering with balls is known and ask whether the ball is
