Double points of a 4-bar linkage

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1978
Abstract In this paper the points in a 4-bar which have one or more double points in their path are mapped out. It is found these regions are defined by the centrodes of the linkage and by the transition curves. The areas defined by the transition curve are small and may be neglected in most cases.

Nearshore bars and the break-point hypothesis

Coastal Engineering, 1989
Abstract The set of hypotheses calling for bar formation at the break point was tested with field data. During two different experiments, waves were measured across the surf zone coincident with the development of a nearshore bar. We use a criterion, based on the wave height to depth ratio, to determine the offshore limit of the inner surf zone ...

Burrowed Stiffgrounds on Estuarine Point Bars

2007
Abstract Allostratigraphic studies based on the examination of outcrop and core have benefited greatly from the application of substrate-specific ichnofacies. The Glossifungites Ichnofacies, in particular, has been widely employed in the recognition of stratigraphic bounding surfaces within Cretaceous deposits of the Western Canada ...

Airy Points of a Meter Bar

American Journal of Physics, 1966
If a meter bar of length l and of rectangular cross-section is to be compared with a line standard of typically H cross-section, then it is necessary to support the rectangular bar in such a way that the distance between the engravings will not be altered by deflections due to the weight of the bar.

Point bar deposits in narrow sharp bends

Journal of Hydraulic Research, 1996
Meandering channels typically deposit sediments near their inner bank to form point bars. Laboratory experiments with narrow sharp bends show that under identical flow conditions the configuration of point bars depends on particle size. Explanation to this grain-size effect is found in a three-dimensional particle stability. Despite favorable secondary

Three-Dimensional Connectivity of Point-Bar Deposits

Journal of Sedimentary Research, 2010
Abstract The geometry of heterogeneities within fluvial channel-belt deposits is predicted using an existing model of flow and sediment transport in river channel-meander bends. The thickest and coarsest-grained sediment accumulations are deposited near a channel-bend apex, and finer-grained sediments accumulate higher on the ...

Determining the tie bar break point in LFCSP

2008 33rd IEEE/CPMT International Electronics Manufacturing Technology Conference (IEMT), 2008
Strip Testing is popular in LFCSP as it addressed difficulty of handling small and unleaded packages. In LFCSPs, tie bars are very susceptible to mechanical stress after the lead trimming process because it is the only part that holds the package while being processed at laser marking and electrical test.

Hidden Point Bar Method for Precise Heighting

Journal of Surveying Engineering, 2004
Precise heighting by the hidden point bar method is investigated. The investigation includes development of the mathematical model, calibration of the hidden point bar, and comparison with precise leveling and precise trig heighting. The method is applied in the field at a coal-fired electric power generating plan.

Deformations of Point and Midstream Bars on Mountain Rivers

Water Resources, 2002
Based on data of long-term permanent observations of the processes of erosion and accumulation in the Bzyb River basin, relationships between the deformations of the river channel, the hydrological regime of this mountain river, and the rate and character of the debris formation in different areas of its basin are analyzed.

Using Bar-Code Point-of-Care Technology for Patient Safety

Journal For Healthcare Quality, 2004
Patient safety, in particular, medication safety, has become a major issue for healthcare providers, payers, and patients. Medication errors occur at an alarming rate, and the majority of non-intercepted medication errors originate at the point of care when a nurse mistakenly administers a medication.
