The Point Bar Environment in the Mackenzie River Delta

Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences, 1972
Helicoidal flow and sediment sorting along the convex portion of shifting channels in the Mackenzie River Delta cause point bars to be composed of the coarsest material available to plant colonization. Sorting by aeolian action further reduces the fine fraction in point bar soils.

Point Synthesis in Compliant Four-Bar Mechanisms

Volume 5: 21st IEEE/ASME International Conference on Mechatronic and Embedded Systems and Applications (MESA); 49th Mechanisms and Robotics Conference (MR)
Abstract In the last decades, many different methods have been proposed for the synthesis of compliant mechanisms. These methods generally define a compliant structure according to specific design requirements. On the other hand, the synthesis problem can be addressed, from a different point of view, at the output port level. In fact,

Meandering River Point Bar Lithofacies Models

1987
Abstract Modern meandering river point bar deposits formed in fluvial and tidally-influenced environments were investigated to explain why large-scale epsilon cross-stratification (ECS) is common in ancient fluvial rocks but appears to be absent in modern deposits. To resolve this problem several modern meandering systems were studied;

A POINT BAR FACIES RESERVOIR MODEL - SEMI-COMMUNICATED SANDBODY

Proceedings of International Meeting on Petroleum Engineering, 1986
ABSTRACT It is indicated in the secondary recovery practices that in the course of development by waterflooding, the point bar reservoir of meandering channel deposition generally shows a complicated production performance, poor development results and low ultimate recovery, estimated as about 30%.
