PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Development of herbicide resistant crops through induced mutations
Herbicide resistance is an innate characteristic of crop plants. It enables them to survive and propagate even in the presence of lethal doses of herbicides in the surroundings. Genetic tolerance in crops towards herbicides may have several benefits.

The F204S mutation in adrenodoxin oxidoreductase drives salinomycin resistance in Eimeria tenella
Salinomycin is a polyether ionophore widely used for the treatment of coccidiosis in poultry. However, the emergence of coccidia strains resistant to salinomycin presents challenges for control efforts, and the mechanisms underlying this resistance in ...

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Using Genetic Algorithms to Develop Strategies for the Prisoners Dilemma [PDF]
The Prisoner’s Dilemma, a simple two-person game invented by Merrill Flood & Melvin Dresher in the 1950s, has been studied extensively in Game Theory, Economics, and Political Science because it can be seen as an idealized model for real-world phenomena ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.
