Estimating Change Point in Single Server Queues [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics and Statistics, 2016
The paper is concerned with the study of change point problem in the inter-arrival time and service time of single server queues. Maximum likelihood estimators of the parameters are derived. A test statistics has been developed and its properties have been studied.

Refined Path Planning for Emergency Rescue Vehicles on Congested Urban Arterial Roads via Reinforcement Learning Approach

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2021
Fast road emergency response can minimize the losses caused by traffic accidents. However, emergency rescue on urban arterial roads is faced with the high probability of congestion caused by accidents, which makes the planning of rescue path complicated.

An exciting Approach to Theoretical Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Theoretical spectroscopy, and more generally, electronic‐structure theory, are powerful concepts for describing the complex many‐body interactions in materials. They cover methods from ground‐state properties to lattice excitations and light‐matter interaction, including time‐resolved variants.

Tracking human queues using single-point signal monitoring [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 12th annual international conference on Mobile systems, applications, and services, 2014
We investigate using smartphone WiFi signals to track human queues, which are common in many business areas such as retail stores, airports, and theme parks. Real-time monitoring of such queues would enable a wealth of new applications, such as bottleneck analysis, shift assignments, and dynamic workflow scheduling.

Exact Discrete Stochastic Simulation With Deep‐Learning‐Scale Gradient Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A 203,796‐parameter gene regulatory network classifies handwritten digits with 98.4% accuracy using exact stochastic dynamics. The framework decouples forward simulation from backward differentiation, making continuous‐time Markov chain models compatible with deep‐learning optimization.

Measuring queue capacities of IEEE 802.11 wireless access points [PDF]

open access: yes2007 Fourth International Conference on Broadband Communications, Networks and Systems (BROADNETS '07), 2007
While queue capacities have a direct impact on loss and latency during congestion, and wireless networks continue to spread in university, corporate and home networks, little is publicly known about the queue capacities of wireless access points (APs).
