Pointing accuracy: Does individual pointing accuracy differ for indoor vs. outdoor locations?

Journal of Environmental Psychology, 2014
Pointing accuracy to and from indoor and outdoor locations was examined to reveal any significant differences in the accuracy with which we recall the arrangement of unseen locations in the world around us. Spatial ability and navigational strategy were included to better understand the cognitive processes involved in pointing accuracy and subsequent ...

POINTING ACCURACY ON STARS

Survey Review, 1972
Abstract The accuracy of pointing to stars in astronomical observations for latitude, longitude and azimuth determinations with single-second and geodetic theodolites is investigated, especially with regard to the effect of the angle between the star's path and the crosswires and also the star's rate movement.

Galileo spacecraft pointing accuracy analysis

Astrodynamics Conference, 1982
This paper describes the analysis required to evaluate the pointing performance of the Galileo spacecraft science instruments and antenna. The main contribution lies in the development of the models needed for pointing analysis. Pointing control mechanisms of the science instruments, as well as the spacecraft autonomous attitude determination process ...

Accuracy of Pointing a Binaural Listening Array

Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 1997
We measured the accuracy with which sounds heard over a binaural, end-fire array could be located when the angular separation of the array's two arms was varied. Each individual arm contained nine cardioid electret microphones, the responses of which were combined to produce a unidirectional, band-limited pattern of sensitivity.

Speed and Accuracy of Eye-Gaze Pointing

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1997
The current experiment examined the speed-accuracy trade-off of saccadic movement between two targets. Ten subjects looked alternately at two targets as fast and as accurately as possible for 2 min. under different conditions of target size, distance between targets, and direction of eye movement.

The Accuracy of Floating Point Summation

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 1993
The author studies five summation methods for computing the sum of a number of floating point numbers. The accuracy is compared using rounding error analysis and numerical experiments. Reordering the numbers is a central idea. Statistical estimates are provided and the model with no guard digit is also considered. No particular method is uniformly more
