Designing Co–N/C Cathode Catalysts with Dense Atomic Cobalt Sites for Enhanced PEMFC Performance

Cobalt‐based platinum‐metal free catalysts can compete with iron‐based materials as catalysts on the cathodes of fuel cells due to their high site density and activity. This discovery highlights the importance of understanding the active sites responsible for the catalytic activity in these non‐precious metal catalysts.

Mechanism‐Driven Screening of Membrane‐Targeting and Pore‐Forming Antimicrobial Peptides

To combat antibiotic resistance, this study employs mechanism‐driven screening with machine learning to identify pore‐forming antimicrobial peptides from amphibian and human metaproteomes. Seven peptides are validated, showing minimal toxicity and membrane disruption.
