Tuning the Adsorption of H and OH on Ruthenium Aerogel to Boost the Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution

The formation of Ru hetero‐phases (fcc/hcp) combined with Cr ions doping effectively weakens the strong adsorption of OH and H species on Ru sites. This modulation of adsorption energetics exposes more active Ru centers, thereby significantly enhancing the alkaline HER activity of the Ru aerogel.
