Stochastic Hydrodynamic Velocity Field and the Representation of Langevin Equations

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, EarlyView.
A lumped method is proposed to account for both mean‐field hydrodynamics and stochastic fluctuations within the kinematic equations of motion, providing a regularized formulation of the overdamped approximation. The concept of stochastic realizability in broad sense is introduced based on the spectral properties of the Fredholm operator associated with

Nitrate Reduction for Deaminative Suzuki–Miyaura Coupling of Anilines

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We present a one‐step deaminative Suzuki–Miyaura‐type coupling of anilines via fleeting diazonium intermediate with nitrate and bisulfite as the reagents. This represents the first application of the nitrate reduction strategy in transition metal catalysis of diazonium chemistry.

Site‐Selective Carbonylation of Azetidines via Copper‐Catalyzed Difluorocarbene Insertion

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We disclose a site‐selective Cu‐catalyzed carbonylation of azetidines promoted by difluorocarbene insertion at low temperature, enabling access to a variety of functionalized γ‐lactams and a therapeutic agent for diabetes (40 examples). This skeletal expansion strategy provides a distinct disconnection approach to synthesize medicinally relevant five ...

A Bench‐Stable Fluorophosphine Nickel(0) Complex and Its Catalytic Application

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We herein present the synthesis of a bench‐stable Ni(0) complex, [Ni(PFPh2)4], stabilized by vastly underexplored fluorophosphine ligands. The application of [Ni(PFPh2)4] in Suzuki–Miyaura and Kumada‐Tamao‐Corriu cross‐coupling reactions as well as in Buchwald–Hartwig C─N bond formation reactions, indicates its promising potential as alternative to ...

Asymmetric Coordination in Cobalt Single‐Atom Catalysts Enables Fast Charge Dynamics and Hierarchical Active Sites for Two‐Stage Kinetics in Photodegradation of Organic Pollutants

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This investigation demonstrates an efficient synthetic methodology for the fabrication of atomically dispersed cobalt species anchored on carbon nitride substrate, featuring distinctive asymmetric Co─C2N3 coordination environments and hierarchical active sites.

Decoding Double Layer Dynamics for CO2 Electroreduction over Cu

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Understanding of the nature and role of the electric double layer (EDL) at electrocatalytic interfaces is critical to optimizing electrochemical processes such as the carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR). Despite its postulated influence on CO2RR activity, direct spectroscopic evidence of the complex interplay between EDL structure and reaction ...

Origin of Room Temperature Methanol Synthesis over hcp‐PdMo

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
The hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol has garnered significant interest with respect to the reduction of carbon emissions; however, the high temperatures and pressures typically required diminish the benefits of this approach. In this study, we report a hexagonal close‐packed (hcp)‐PdMo catalyst that exhibits the highest room temperature catalytic ...

Dental fluorosis in the European roe deer (Capreolus capreolus): A review of the pathological changes in the enamel of fluorotic cheek teeth and the abnormal pattern of dental wear in affected dentitions

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract This article reviews the pathological changes in the enamel of permanent mandibular cheek teeth and their sequelae in European roe deer from regions polluted by anthropogenic fluoride emissions. The primary (developmental) changes of fluorotic roe deer enamel are hypomineralization and microstructural aberrations, including enamel hypoplasia ...

Determination of selenium speciation in the muscle, kidney, and liver from different animals treated with different selenium supplements by HPLC‐ICP‐MS

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary selenium (Se) deficiency is recognized as a global problem, and exogenous Se supplementation can effectively enrich its levels in animal bodies. Offal tissues are equally important as meat in Se enrichment. Varying properties among Se species require information beyond total Se concentration to fully evaluate health risk/benefits.
