Overdispersion in the Poisson Regression Model
Abstract. This simulation study compares different strategies to solve the problem of underestimating standard errors in the Poisson regression model when overdispersion is present. The study analyses the importance of sample size, Poisson distribution mean, and dispersion parameter in choosing the best index or estimate.

Swedish farmers' approval of nudges
Abstract Interest in the use of behavioral policy approaches, such as nudges, has strongly increased over the past years, including in the domains of food, agricultural and environmental policies. While the approval of nudges among the general public has been studied extensively, we know little about the attitude of farmers toward nudging. Farmers may (

PENERAPAN REGRESI ZERO-INFLATED NEGATIVE BINOMIAL (ZINB) UNTUK PENDUGAAN KEMATIAN ANAK BALITA
One method of regression analysis used to analyze the count data is Poisson regression. Poisson regression requires that the mean value equal to the value of variance (equidispersion).

Does Contract Farming Improve Diet Quality? The Case of Senegalese Smallholders
ABSTRACT The institution of contract farming has gained prominence in most developing countries owing to its numerous benefits. While several studies have already highlighted the welfare benefits of contract farming, very few have investigated the effects on diet quality, despite poor quality diets being a serious challenge in most parts of the ...

Mixture of bivariate Poisson regression models with an application to insurance [PDF]
In a recent paper Bermúdez [2009] used bivariate Poisson regression models for ratemaking in car insurance, and included zero-inflated models to account for the excess of zeros and the overdispersion in the data set. In the present paper, we revisit this

Bayesian modelling of nonlinear Poisson regression with artificial neural networks
Modelling and prediction of count and rate responses have substantial usage in many fields, including health, finance, social, etc. Conventionally, linear Poisson regression models have been widely used to model these responses.

This study aimed to clarify the epidemiology of hemorrhoids by leveraging a comprehensive nationwide healthcare claims database in Japan. By analyzing invasive treatments for hemorrhoids over a 5‐year period (2018–2022), we identified key demographic patterns, including distinct bimodal peaks in incidence among males and females, and highlighted ...
