Compound Poisson Processes, Latent Shrinkage Priors and Bayesian Nonconvex Penalization
In this paper we discuss Bayesian nonconvex penalization for sparse learning problems. We explore a nonparametric formulation for latent shrinkage parameters using subordinators which are one-dimensional L\'{e}vy processes. We particularly study a family

A deployable, chip‐integrated approach to the detection of heart attack biomarkers is demonstrated using silicon photonic microring resonators combined with microfluidics. By applying the Pound–Drever–Hall frequency locking technique, sensor signals are measured with improved signal‐to‐noise ratio, applying this to real‐time, selective readouts.

CTSK plays a critical role in pulmonary fibrosis. Excessive CTSK accumulation interacts with SNX9 to enhance TGF‐β1‐induced SMAD3 activation and GLS1 expression in fibroblasts, driving glutamine metabolism for collagen biosynthesis and exacerbating pulmonary fibrosis.

Background Dependent variables in health psychology are often counts, for example, of a behaviour or number of engagements with an intervention. These counts can be very strongly skewed, and/or contain large numbers of zeros as well as extreme outliers ...

The relative age effect in European elite soccer: A practical guide to Poisson regression modelling
Many disciplines of scholarship are interested in the Relative Age Effect (RAE), whereby age-banding confers advantages on older members of the cohort over younger ones.

This study defines the structure, mechanics, and mechanobiology of the fibrocartilage pericellular matrix (PCM) using the murine meniscus, showing how collagen V deficiency alters PCM properties and disrupts cell mechanosensitive signaling. Findings emphasize the critical role of PCM in fibrocartilage mechanobiology and suggest targeting it can enhance

On autocorrelation in a Poisson regression model [PDF]
SUMMARY This paper develops a practical approach to diagnosing the existence of a latent stochastic process in the mean of a Poisson regression model. The asymptotic distribution of standard generalised linear model estimators is derived for the case where an autocorrelated latent process is present.

Reparametrization of COM–Poisson regression models with applications in the analysis of experimental data [PDF]
The COM–Poisson distribution is a two-parameter generalization of the Poisson distribution that can deal with under-, equi- and overdispersed count data.

This study demonstrates that Piezo1 activation enhances FAK‐YAP‐mediated upregulation of PD‐L1 and CXCL10, thereby promoting an immunotherapy‐responsive tumor microenvironment in NSCLC. Cyclic stretch modulates the PD‐L1/CXCL10 response to ECM stiffness, reshaping their expression dynamics.

Objective Bayes testing of Poisson versus inflated Poisson models
The Poisson distribution is often used as a standard model for count data. Quite often, however, such data sets are not well fit by a Poisson model because they have more zeros than are compatible with this model.
