Polarization diversity detection in compound-gaussian clutter
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2004We present the problem of polarization diversity detection in compound-Gaussian clutter with unknown covariance matrix. To this end we assume that a set of secondary data, free of signal components and with the same covariance structure of the cell under test, is available.

HHV-6 inhibition by two polar compounds
Antiviral Research, 1992Dimethyl sulphoxide and dimethyl formamide, two polar compounds and powerful cell differentiation inducers, inhibit HHV-6 infection when added to HHV-6-infected HSB2 cultures. This was established by a delay in the time-course of infection and in the development of virus-induced cytopathic effects.

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1991
AbstractGas‐liquid critical temperatures have been measured for binary mixtures of the polar compounds acetonitrile, 2‐butanone and monochlorobenzene + 2,2,4‐trimethylpentane or + n‐alkanes as well as + some other polar compounds. The data were analysed in terms of a parameter of interaction between unlike molecules using conformal solution theory.

Polar and Non-Polar Valency in Organic Compounds
Nature, 1922THERE is an increasing tendency on the part of organic chemists to apply the Berzelius dualistic theory, in a modified form, to organic compounds. In many theories of valency, individual groups are considered to be more or less electropositive or electronegative, and it is possible to arrange these groups, approximately, in a table of descending ...

Transbuccal Delivery of Polar Compounds
1996Passive diffusion of polar solutes and weak electrolytes through canine buccal mucosa was investigated in vitro as a function of pH and solute molecular weight. The diffusion experiments were performed using modified Ussing chambers at constant temperature (37°C).

Dielectric polarizations of some organosilicon compounds
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences, USSR Division of Chemical Science, 19661. The dipole moments of nine organosilicon compounds were measured. 2. An estimate was made of the atomic polarization for symmetrical compounds containing two silicon atoms, separated by methylene bridges, and for compounds containing silicon in four- and five-membered rings. 3.

Separation of polar compounds using carbon columns
Journal of Chromatography A, 2003The objective of this review with 122 references is to provide structure and retention mechanisms of porous graphitic carbon by chromatographic analysis and computational chemical analysis of retention mechanisms. Synthesis methods of porous graphitic carbon are described.

Polarization Sensitivity in Compound Eyes
1989The compound eyes of insects and many other arthropods can detect a basic property of light which normally remains invisible to us: the plane of polarization. Arising by scattering in air and water, as well as by reflection from surfaces (Fig. 1), linearly polarized light (characterized by the E-vector direction) is widespread in nature and provides ...

Highly spin-polarized Co2MnGa0.5Sn0.5 Heusler compound
Acta Materialia, 2009Abstract Point contact Andreev reflection measurements of Co2MnSn1−xGax alloys showed that the spin polarization of L21 ordered quaternary Co2MnSn0.5Ga0.5 compound increased to 0.72 compared to 0.6 for Co2MnSn and Co2MnGa ternary alloys. The L21 Co2MnSn0.5Ga0.5 phase was found to be an intermetallic compound, in which the L21 structure was stable up ...
