Jaw Periosteum-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Regulate THP-1-Derived Macrophage Polarization [PDF]
Mesenchymal stem cells from bone marrow have powerful immunomodulatory capabilities. The interactions between jaw periosteal cells (JPCs) and macrophages are not only relevant for the application of JPCs in regenerative medicine, but this understanding could also help treating diseases like osteonecrosis of the jaw.

Advanced Diagnostics for the Study of Linearly Polarized Emission. II: Application to Diffuse Interstellar Radio Synchrotron Emission [PDF]
Diagnostics of polarized emission provide us with valuable information on the Galactic magnetic field and the state of turbulence in the interstellar medium, which cannot be obtained from synchrotron intensity alone. In Paper I (Herron et al.

Some Zygmund-type integral inequalities for the polar derivatives of complex polynomials, inspired by the classical Bernstein-type inequalities that relate the uniform norms of polynomials and their derivatives on the unit circle, are investigated.

BODIPY-based dye for no-wash live-cell staining and imaging
In nonpolar solvents, hydrophobic organic fluorophores often show bright fluorescence, whereas in polar media, they usually suffer from aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ).

Galactic populations of radio and gamma-ray pulsars in the polar cap model [PDF]
We simulate the characteristics of the Galactic population of radio and $\gamma$-ray pulsars using Monte Carlo techniques. At birth, neutron stars are spatially distributed in the Galactic disk, with supernova-kick velocities, and randomly dispersed in ...

L^p inequalities for polar derivatives of polynomials [PDF]
Let \(p(z)=a_0+a_1z+ \cdots+ a_nz^n\) be a polynomial of degree \(n\) and let for fixed \(\alpha\in\mathbb{C}\) \[ D_\alpha p(z):= np(z)+(\alpha-z)p'(z) \] denote the polar derivative of \(p(z)\) with respect to \(\alpha\). In this paper some inequalities for such polar derivatives are presented. In particular it is proved: Theorem.

3-5 On the basis of an improved synthesis of the 1,3,4,5,6-pentaacetate of myo-inositol, now available in only one step from that cyclitol in yields up to 90%, we prepared various derivatives of 1-deoxy-1-mercapto-scyllo-inositol (monothioscyllitol) via the mesylate 1 a or the trifluoromesylate 1 b , respectively.

Polarization and reprogramming of myeloid-derived suppressor cells [PDF]
Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) have recently emerged as one of the central regulators of the immune system. In recent years, interest in understanding MDSC biology and applying MDSC for therapeutic purpose has exploded exponentially. Despite recent progress in MDSC biology, the mechanisms underlying MDSC development from expansion and ...
