ChemInform Abstract: Remarkably Diverse Interstitial Chemistry of the Polar Intermetallic Phase Zr5Sb3.

open access: closedChemInform, 1988
AbstractIt is demonstrated that the hexagonal title phase exhibits a rich interstitial chemistry in which at least 18 different elements Z (C, O, Al, Si, P, S, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, As, Se, Ru, Ag, Sb) with a wide variety of normal valence requirements can be bonded in the center of octahedral Zr6Sb6 units.

Electronic and optical properties of polar intermetallic compound BaSn3: First principles study

open access: closedOptik, 2020
Abstract The electronic and optical properties of intermetallic compound BaSn3 are investigated at high pressure from the first principles density functional theory calculations using the plane-wave pseudo-potential method within generalized gradient approximations in the forms of PBEsol (PBEsol-GGA).

Conduction-electron polarization in intermetallic actinide compounds

Physical Review B, 1978
The large conduction-electron polarization observed in many intermetallic actinide compounds with well localized $5f$ moments is analyzed using a phenomenological model for the electron density of states. The model is applied to PuP and successfully predicts appreciable polarization effects existing in the paramagnetic phase.

Polarized neutron study of the intermetallic conpound GdAl2

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1983
Abstract We report the Gd magnetic form factor in GdAl2. In order to avoid the strong absorption of neutrons by natural gadolium very short wavelenghts were used. The 4f part of the form factor agrees with the relativistic radial integral 〈j0〉 calculated for a free ion, with a moment of only 6.6μB instead of the 7.0μB expected.
