Results 21 to 30 of about 2,545 (238)
Structural, electronic, and transport properties of ScNiSb, ScPdSb, and ScPtSb were investigated from first principles. Electronic band structures derived within the fully relativistic MBJLDA approach were compared with those obtained from the standard ...

Designing a robustly metallic noncenstrosymmetric ruthenate oxide with large thermopower anisotropy
The existence of approximately 30 noncentrosymmetric metals (NCSM) suggests a contraindication between crystal structures without inversion symmetry and metallic behavior. Those containing oxygen are especially scarce.

Electrochemical Behavior of Magnetron-Sputtered Al–Cu Alloy Films in Sulfate Solutions [PDF]
Model alloys, generated by magnetron sputtering, have been employed to understand the role of copper on the corrosion behavior of aluminum alloys. Binary Al–Cu alloys, with copper contents between 0 and 100 atom %, were synthesized with well-controlled ...

This study proposes a new methodology for producing metal matrix nanocomposites in the solid state. The process involves the plasma‐assisted thermochemical treatment of metallic alloy powders. As a proof‐of‐concept, TiN nanoparticles are synthesized directly on the surface of FeTi intermetallic powder particles, enabling the development of the ...
