Alternative linear microgrid polarimeters: design, analysis, and demosaicing considerations.

Applied Optics, 2021
Linear division of focal plane (DoFP), or integrated microgrid polarimeters, provide a measurement strategy for obtaining time-synchronized polarized intensity measurements across a scene.

Error analysis of channeled Stokes polarimeters.

Applied Optics, 2021
This work presents an analysis of passive polarimeters with spectral channeling, referred to as Stokes channeled spectropolarimeters (SCS). The SCS setup comprises two thick birefringent retarders, followed by a horizontal linear polarizer.

Astrobiological polarimeter

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
Chirality is an excellent indicator of life, but naturally occurring astrobiological (as well as terrestrial) samples nearly always exhibit massive depolarizing light scattering, which renders conventional polarimeters useless. For astrobiological applications, we instead consider a novel polarimeter originally developed for non-invasive human-glucose ...

Polarizer calibration method for Mueller matrix polarimeters.

Applied Optics, 2020
We advance what we believe is a novel eigenvalue-based method for calibrating Mueller matrix polarimeters employing a single calibration optical component: a polarizer.

Interferometric imaging polarimeter

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2004
We describe a new imaging polarimeter that is based on a modified Sagnac interferometer and allows full polarimetric description of complex random electromagnetic beams from only two images as compared with the four images needed in conventional polarimetry. The procedure is analyzed in terms of the interference laws of Fresnel and Arago, and very good

A Recording Polarimeter

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1950
A recording polarimeter has been constructed. The principle of operation is essentially the replacement of an operator in conventional visual polarimetry by a photoelectric servo system. A photo-multiplier tube is used which, in conjunction with a mechanical chopping system, delivers an alternating current signal proportional to the unbalance.

Improved servo-polarimeter

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1979
A servo-polarimeter utilizing a rotating plastic film as a modulator has been modified to improve stability and sensitivity. The birefringence in a sample being scanned by moving it past a slit can now be determined to better than 3×10−9.

A Microwave Polarimeter

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1949
A microwave polarimeter is described which enables the determination of rotation of the plane of polarization of microwaves in the 3.2-cm band. The transmitter-analyzer utilizes klystron tube 723 A/B. The microwaves are fed into a horn which acts as a polarizing agent.

Dynamically Reconfigurable on-Chip Polarimeters Based on Nanoantenna Enabled Polarization Dependent Optoelectronic Computing.

Nano letters (Print)
On-chip polarization detectors have attracted extensive research interest due to their filterless and ultracompact architecture. However, their polarization-dependent photoresponses cannot be dynamically adjusted, hindering the development toward ...

Achromatic polarimeter

Optics and Spectroscopy, 2014
A polarimeter for measuring complete state of polarization of light in a wide spectral range is investigated. The light beam to be analyzed propagates through a continuously rotating first-phase plate; then through a continuously rotating second-phase plate; and, passing through a stationary linear polarizer, is incident on a detector.
